Morten Hilmer, born 1980 in Denmark is a professional nature photographer.

Mortens fascination with wildlife led him to buy his first camera at the age of 13. It was this passion, together with a desire to see the Arctic, that led him to join one of the worlds most specialized military units the Sirius Sledge Patrol, which operates as park rangers in northeast Greenland. Together with a colleague, 15 dogs and his camera, he drove a dog sled almost 10,000 kilometers through the worlds biggest national park.

The special Arctic training made it possible for Morten to work with his camera in these extreme conditions for long periods which has resulted in unique photos.

After 26 months of isolation in Greenland, Morten turned professional nature photographer, specializing in Arctic wildlife and Danish mammals.

Danish Nature Photographer of the year 2009, he has won prizes in the European Wildlife Photographer of the year competition in 2008 and 2009 and was a prize-winner in the Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 competition.

Through his photographs and experiences he wants to show other people the beauty of nature and wildlife. This is done by plenty of events, lectures and courses and the audiences are privates, companies, universities, schools etc.
